Cilmi wins 6th and final term

“I pledge to work just as hard in my last two years in the Legislature as I did in my first two years,” said Legislator Tom Cilmi as he savored a 70% – 30% victory in his final election to the Suffolk County Legislature. He is term limited after his next two years.

“My staff and I appreciate the trust the voters place in us and our goal every day is to serve,” he said.

Cilmi credited his record of legislative accomplishments as well as his work in the community for laying the foundation for his big win, but expressed thanks to his staff, to the Suffolk County Young Republicans, to all the organizations who endorsed his candidacy, to the hundreds of residents who displayed Re-Elect Tom Cilmi lawn signs, to Steve Starlust at Paragon Advertising, to Islip Republican Chairman Bill Garbarino and Suffolk County GOP Chairman Jesse Garcia, to all the committee-people and campaign volunteers, and especially to all those who voted for him.

“I can’t possibly thank everyone enough,” he said. “I love this job. I love the people I get to work for and those I get to work with, and I am so looking forward to doing it for the next two years.”
