The Republican Caucus of the Suffolk County Legislature announced the selection of 10th District Legislator Tom Cilmi as Minority Leader.  Re-elected in November to his 5th term in office, Cilmi has been a fiscal conservative and vocal proponent of changes to the County’s budget process, has advocated for multi-year budgeting and for voting on the County’s budget and tax levy before Election Day.  He has also been an outspoken leader in the fight against underage drinking and drug abuse.

Cilmi said, “I’m honored to lead the Republican caucus in 2018 and look forward to working with any member, Republican or Democrat, who wants to reduce spending and borrowing, and put an end to back door fees and taxes.  Suffolk is headed in the wrong direction.  Our quality of life is suffering while our tax bills get higher and higher.  We must do everything in our power to change course.”
